SAME POWER
The song we sang yesterday in church really is the message summed up, "the same power that conquered the grave lives in me." I think that if we are not careful what we can boil this year down to and the resolutions that we made is will-power. I can do it, the problem with that is historically that has not worked, because the power of my will will so fail, probably within 2-3 days and I find myself starting over thinking that somehow this time it will be different.
Here is the encouragement today: We no longer need to depend on our will, the great news is that we find our strength in the cross, where our sins past, present, and future are paid for. The object that we fix our eyes firmly on is the author and perfecter of our faith Jesus. Rest in that fact today, His love for you does not depend on your performance, but rather His.
With our eyes firmly fixed on Him let us run after Him, that is the greatest joy. Have a God-saturated day.
