Forsaking It All
Matthew 13:44-46:
"The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his JOY, he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding on preal of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it."
The question that I want to raise today and one that I think we would do well to think on this week, what do you need to give up in order to embrace the truth of Christ, full on? Now that can be a question that you can take in many directions, but the one place we cannot take it is to easy street. I beleive that so often we fail to be all that God has us to be, to see all that He desires to show us, to experience all that He has for us, because we fail to be honest about the things that rule our life, other then the mercy and grace of Christ. Are we willing to be despised, rejected, scorned, are we willing to be pushed out of our comfort zones, for the chance to know HIm, for the chance to not just be consumed by knowledge but to be consumed by HIm.
What is it today that is holding you back from embracing Christ full on? May we recognize it, deal with it, bring it, leave it, and embrace a good God, with both arms.
