About Me

We are not perfect, but we have been saved by the one who is. He did it by grace alone, through faith alone, on the basis of Christ alone, for the glory of God alone, revealed infallibly by the Scripture alone.

Thursday Thoughts-Back-to-School

Oh my gosh  I cannot believe that it is already time for school to start, the routine ensues and the madness begins.  This year my prayer for our families is that you do dinner.  No, not McDonald's in your car on the way to whatever, really use that massive table, in that room you hardly go into.  I pray that this year would be one that we really do life together.  Teaching, challenging, mentoring, checking up on, leading our families closer to Christ.  Let this year be one that you take advantage of a meal.  The Bible has some things to say about dinner and the sacred aspect it should play in our lives.  Jesus chose to spend His last moments with His disciples around the dinner table, loving on them.  The church in Acts went from house to house, celebrating the goodness of God.
It may seem insignificant and you may "not have time" for it, but as you make it a priority, may the depth of your love for Christ, for who He is and what He has done, grow you closer and closer to Him.  As you sit around the dinner table this year, let this verse be one that comes to mind often:
One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare
your mighty acts, on the glorious splendor of your majesty...
Ps. 145:4-5a
